One global legal firm’s property group was looking for a high-impact brochure to highlight their range of experience in transactions of iconic structures, complex financings, and large developments in the real estate sector. Cost was a factor, as well as a brochure that can be easily distributed at events or boardroom meetings. The result was a pocket size, accordion fold brochure with fonts and colors that were selected from the firm’s existing style guide. To highlight each of the areas of expertise, buildings were formed from the descriptions that resulted in a cityscape when looked at from a distance.

The Wildlife Conservation Society was in need of an annual report for 2009. They were looking to update the look while still conforming to existing collateral. With a greater amount of copy and images than previous years, the report needed to be organized in order for readers to navigate the 100-plus page brochure. The resulting color palette came from wildlife imagery and was used to define each chapter. Two page Q&A sections were also introduced throughout.

The Union Settlement Association, is a non-profit whose dedication to the community of East Harlem has been helping 13,000 individuals each year. I was asked to design this year’s annual report which illustrates the agency’s programs for individuals and families through a collection of case studies in Youth, Adult Education, Early Childcare, Senior Services, Mental Health, HIV Care Network, Home Care and Credit Union. Aside from case studies and the financial report, the 20-page brochure, also includes individual program results alongside images of volunteers and community members who have benefited from the organization.

Panthera, a non-profit whose mission is to conserve the world’s 36 species of wild cats and its habitats, was looking to create an 8-page brochure specific to their Jaguar Corridor Initiative. The brochure needed to appeal to current and potential donors through visuals and supporting text of Panthera’s vision for problems facing the Jaguar Corridor, the initiative’s current footprint in 18 countries, and the expertise of those involved with the organization.

I recently designed a business card for Minneapolis based, animator and illustrator Anand Hurdkadli. Sometimes simple and clean is all you need. Take a look at some of his work or venture over to his Etsy shop where his video game inspired prints have been causing quite a stir. http://www.fortawesomestudios.com/
Welcome to the new home and website for my graphic design portfolio. The new format is influenced by my approach to design in print with emphasis on grids. I’ve integrated a blog where I will be posting announcements for upcoming events, recognition I’ve received and recently completed projects. The portfolio section showcases selected work and if you would like to find out a little about my career take a look in the about section. Designing and producing the new website has been a huge learning experience and with updates and improvements in the horizon. Your feedback is appreciated.

Announced at 23rd Annual LMA Conference at National Harbor, Maryland, the 2008 Philip C. Jessup Competition collateral and the Trends in Corporate Governance brochure were both awarded the 2009 Your Honor Awards from the Legal Marketing Association (LMA).
The 2008 Jessup newsprint poster was recently published in the 365: AIGA Year in Design 29 the source book for the 2008 winners of the AIGA Annual Design Competition. I love this year’s annual, designed by Pentagram, for its larger format, overall design and that it’s printed with four different covers.
The 2008 Philip C. Jessup campaign received a merit in this year’s HOW In-HOWse Design Awards annual. In this competition corporate projects produced by in-house designers are judged along side each other.
