To enhance the quality of the product, additional graphics were kept to a minimum with focus put on placement
and scale of the individual pieces.
To help employees transition to Microsoft Outlook, the firm needed a reference guide to distribute to its worldwide offices as the application was rolled out. The handy guide, provides an overview, shortcuts and step-by-step instructions for common and some advance features. The card format allows users to quickly flip to their desired section without being overwhelmed with other information. In addition, the binder ring allows for future inserts should updates or additional features need to
be addressed. A blank end page was included to serve as an area for users to jot down their own notes.








The annual Trends in Corporate Governance of the Largest US Public Companies brochure has become one of the firm’s signature marketing pieces to drive users to the firm website as well as to increase attendance to the annual Corporate Governance Symposium. The objective of the piece is to educate companies, particularly General Counsel, on the corporate governance and director and executive compensation practices of the top 100 US public companies. To date, this survey is the only one of its kind, making it an important tool for corporations worldwide.

ProActive, a quarterly newsletter informs current and prospective clients of the firm’s pro bono efforts. Unlike the firm’s other newsletters, ProActive take’s on a more editorial approach. The flexibility of the firm’s grid based template allowed for play with image and pull-quotes to keep each issue dynamic and fresh. The use of color, typography and complex grid systems is evident and carefully adhered to.


Partner and counsel announcements are sent to clients annually and include a variety of formats: a firm wide announcement; a small booklet including all new partner/counsel; and the frequently requested single announcement that individual attorneys send to a more targeted audience. To introduce new partners and counsel to clients and increase attorney exposure. Wanting to move away from the stereotypical announcement, the new Shearman & Sterling announcements are clean and elegant in design. With each new year, updates to the color using the firm’s palette keeps the announcement fresh till the next redesign.

For the US Litigation Recruiting brochure an insert, titled Matters that Matter, was created to showcase some of the high-profile deals Shearman & Sterling’s Litigation group works on. The challenge of the piece was that it needed to be designed with future costs in mind for reprints when new deals are made thus giving the brochure a longer shelf-life. This was very important as the project had not been previously budgeted for furthering the need keep costs at a minimum.

A brochure was created to bring awareness and generate interest for the redesign of Restoration Plaza in Bedford Stuyvesant. The booklet highlights the key renovation phases through architectural renderings, graphics and text.

Garrison Architects needed a booklet to give to prospective and current clients highlighting their current work. It was necessary for the piece to flexible for future updates and on the fly printing, be small enough to include in press kits yet capable of being produced in-house.
