For our wedding celebration, I designed a stationary suite adorned with an Indian motif inspired by traditional Indian art forms. Hindu weddings tend to have several events, we had six over three days. Some of the events were specific for the Groom’s side and the Bride’s side. As a result, all pieces to the invitation had to be customized. The stationary suite took on a cream and deep red palette to reflect our traditional wedding clothes.

Each Invitation is composed of four event cards, a custom map, directional and reply cards with envelope, all of which fit into an organza pouch. Because of the nature of the pouch I included an address card in front and inserted everything into a clear celo envelope. This gave the invitation a polished look without the use of labels. All 250 invitations were printed and assembled at home. As a final touch, mini swarovski crystals were glued in appropriate places for some glitz.

The invitation design was extended to thank you cards, table numbers, seating cards and a program. All of which were made in a similar fashion. The response I received on the design of the cards was impressive. Most could not believe it was handmade.
