Argued by law student participants from more than 75 countries around the world, the 2007 moot court case, raises issues of state membership in international organizations. Produced with a minimal budget, the event collateral gives the audience a glimpse into the life of the minority population likely to be affected most by the trial.
In order to appeal to a younger audience, vivid colors and vertical type are introduced and used consistently in both the poster and invitations. The selected image of a field worker is in grayscale – the lack of color meant to add a layer of communication regarding the applicant state’s resistance to the modern world. Influenced by the state’s agricultural society, the black foreground was deconstructed by removing vertical strips of varying sizes to expose the image below – as if peering through a field of crops. This ambiguity emphasizes the future of the applicant state is unknown until a verdict is reached.
The edgier design to that of previous years, was well received by participants and resulted in requests for reprints of the event posters.
